Allison Muncy, M.S., CCC-SLP
Pediatric Speech-Language Pathologist
I am a pediatric speech-language pathologist specializing in early intervention. I have 8 years of experience, working first with the geriatric population at a skilled nursing facility in Richmond, and then ultimately switching to pediatrics for the past 6 years here in Hampton Roads. With a Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology and certification from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), I have extensive experience working with young children to support their communication and language development. In the early intervention setting, I work closely with children and their families from infancy through preschool, helping to address a wide range of speech, language, feeding, and communication disorders. Whether working with children who are delayed in speech development, those with speech sound disorders, feeding concerns, or children with autism or other developmental delays, I use evidence-based techniques and individualized therapy plans to foster meaningful progress.
I am committed to creating a warm, engaging, and supportive environment for children and their families. By integrating play-based therapy with a child’s natural interests, I ensure therapy feels fun and motivating while addressing specific communication needs. As part of an interdisciplinary team, I also collaborate with parents, caregivers, and other professionals to develop effective strategies for home and out in the community.
With a deep understanding of the critical window for language development, I believe in the power of early intervention to make lasting impacts on a child's growth and future success.
